CARTI Breaks Ground On CARTI Cancer Center

CARTI recently broke ground on the CARTI Cancer Center, a multi-specialty, patient-focused cancer treatment center that is scheduled to open Fall 2015. The 170,000 square foot building will sit on 37.12 acres located on Riley Drive just south of Interstate 630 and Barrow Road.

The CARTI Cancer Center will offer medical, surgical and radiation oncology and diagnostic radiology, as well as hematology services. It also will feature clinics dedicated to imaging, infusion, research, pharmacy and support programs. Upon opening, the new CARTI Cancer Center will serve as the hub of a statewide network of satellite clinics that sees an estimated 20,000 cancer patients per year.

Projected cost of the building, including furnishings and medical equipment, is estimated at $90 million. The CARTI Foundation has embarked on a capital campaign to raise funds to enhance the new center, provide equipment and program support. The â€ťBuilding Hope, Fighting Cancer” campaign has a goal of raising $10 million dollars to assist the facility, equipment and program support. To date, the Foundation has raised $7,609,926, which is more than 76 percent of the overall goal.

Capital campaign lead donors include:  Bruce Oakley, Inc.; Amy and Brad Baltz; Karen and John Flake; Ashley and Thomas Koonce; ROAPA Physicians; Mark V. and Kathy Williamson; and a donor who chooses to remain anonymous. The Alley Family also is recognized for donating a portion of the land for the new cancer center.

CARTI currently offers medical oncology in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Benton, Clinton, Conway, El Dorado, Heber Springs, Monticello, Russellville and Stuttgart. Radiation oncology is offered at CARTI facilities in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway, Mountain Home and Searcy.

CARTI is a nonprofit, multi-disciplinary cancer center with facilities located throughout Arkansas.  The CARTI Foundation was incorporated in 1983 as a non-profit organization to assist CARTI in meeting the current and future needs of Arkansas cancer patients and their families.
