Bray Gourmet Selected as On-Site Restaurant for New CARTI Cancer Center

Bray Gourmet, the Little Rock-based delicatessen and catering company, will be the on-site restaurant at the new CARTI Cancer Center, according to a recent announcement by officials with the statewide network of cancer care providers.

“We could not be more pleased to have Bray Gourmet partner with us to help create what we hope will be an atmosphere designer to inspire health and healing at the new CARTI Cancer Center,” says Jan Burford, CARTI president and chief executive officer.

“Having a restaurant on-site that is mindful of the nutritional needs and challenges of cancer patients is sure to be a valuable resource as they undergo treatment at CARTI,” says Burford.

Serving downtown Little Rock since opening in July 2012, Bray Gourmet has received rave reviews for its fresh, homemade sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads and breakfast. Specializing in smoked deli meats and spreads, Bray’s is particularly known for its signature turkey spread available in four flavor variations – original, dill, Cajun and jalapeno.

Owner and chef Chris Bray, a 2006 graduate of the University of Arkansas, is a Little Rock native whose culinary career was inspired by his father, who spent 18 years in the restaurant business.

“I realize CARTI cancer patients and their families will be going through hard times, and my goal will be to make their day a little better,” says Bray.

“We hope to meet that goal every day by providing excellent service and quality food.”

While the majority of his downtown menu will be available at the CARTI location, Bray says few minor changes are expected, including the addition of fresh, fruit smoothies and daily specials.

Targeted to open in Fall 2015, the CARTI Cancer Center will be a multi-specialty, patient-focused cancer treatment center offering medical, surgical and radiation oncology and diagnostic radiology with clinics dedicated to imaging, infusion, research, pharmacy and support programs.

Serving as the hub of a statewide network of satellite clinics that sees an estimated 20,000 cancer patients per year, the center will be located on a 37-acre site on Riley Drive just south of Interstate 630.

Located in the Tower Building at 323 Center Street in downtown Little Rock, Bray Gourmet is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. For more information, visit www.braygourmet.com.
